A crappy day

This day has sucked big time!

Took the bus to University to register. Which took forever as I missed the connection bus. And when I finally got to the University the office, where I was supposed to register, was closed.

Took the train back, as the busses seemed to have problems. Just to end up on a train that got stuck on a station for 15 minutes due to some problems.

When I finally got home I was supposed to get something from the freezer. But instead of opening the freezer door I opened the fridge door, above the freezer door, and slammed it straight in to my face.

Fed up I decided to go to an outdoor aerobics class, to release some stress. Of course it started to rain just in time for the class to start.

And on top of all this, I've now got a nasty headache!

My husband the fashion victim

I've realised that my husband is way more concerned about Noam's dressing than I thought.

The other day I dressed Noam in whatever I first could grab. Far from her nicest clothing, but comfortable and practical. I do not care much as my daughter is cute in whatever she wears.

I left home to do some things in town and an hour later I met up with Noam, my husband and a friend of ours at a café. Noam was then wearing something totally different.

"Did she crap on her clothing?" I asked my husband a bit discreet.

"No, I just wanted her to look cool" my husband replied.

And yesterday morning my husband dressed Noam in one of her few pinkish tops. Considering he hates pink I was a bit surprised, but I said nothing. Later, when we were going out, I realised what was going on:

"Maybe Noam should wear her All Stars today" my husband said.

Seems like my husband when he dressed Noam this morning planned her clothing to match her (still way too big) pink All Stars. That is heavy!

(On the picture above Noam is, of course, wearing her All Stars)

Parenting shortens your life?

They say that your life is shortened if you don't sleep enough.
I wonder then, how many years shorter does my life become from parenting?

Women are also born with body hair

A few days ago my sister looked at my legs and said "Didn't you wax your legs recently?" And her face told me her opinion of the length of the hair on my legs.

Ok, yes, it is long. I just haven't gotten round to wax again. I will. But I wish I wouldn't. I wish I could just say "Fuck it!"

But I can't. I am too brainwashed by living 30 years in a world were it is considered okay for men to have hair everywhere, while women are supposed to have no hair, apart from on their head.

It is ridiculous. Hello! It might come as a surprise to some people, but women are also born with it!

Many people, both women and men, claim that it's disgusting when women don't shave their armpits. How can something that we are born with be considered disgusting on a woman but not on a man?! That pisses me off!

And even if I am brainwashed, and therefor shave both armpits and legs, I totally respect the ones that don't, the ones that has the courage to raise above the norms about masculinity and femininity.

I've become one of them

You know how you, before you become a parent, hate prams in groups. Well, no matter how much you try not to, you do become a part of groups like that when you become a parent.

And yesterday, I took the ultimate step. It's impossible to be more of a "pram group person" than I was yesterday.

How? I'll tell you how.

There is something called baby power walk in the area where I live. That means a group of mothers with babies in prams meeting up and then walking together, in speed, and stopping once in a while for some push ups and stuff.

I do realise that it must look totally ridiculous. And it's probably also annoying for certain morning cruisers. But I actually enjoyed it a lot and will be joining in every Friday morning from now on.

Again: What's wrong with people?

Yesterday, when I was sitting, in the tube station, waiting for the tube, a couple came up to where I was sitting. They were both smoking, even though smoking is not allowed in tube stations in Sweden, as in many other countries.

The girl/woman asked me and the person sitting next to me, if we could move a bit, so that she could sit down.

"Yes sure, if you can please put that cigarette out first, I said to her very nicely.

She looked at me and asked "Why?".

I didn't believe that she asked that. Of course I understand that she was trying to provoke me, but still. What's wrong with people? Why not just say, "sure, no problem", if someone asks you something like that in a polite way.

"Because first of all it's not allowed to smoke in here", I replied. "Second, cigarette smoke makes me feel sick, and third I'm pregnant and do not want to inhale cigarette smoke".

She just turned her back to me and repeated to her boyfriend, with a silly voice, what I had said.

Just then lots of seats got available behind me, so they sat down, still poisoning my air with smoke. I had to get up and move. They didn't care at all.

I know kids can be stupid. I remember myself smoking in the tube when I was around 20. Something I feel embarrassed by today. But even at that age, it only happened when I had been out partying, and was on my way home, late at night, when there were practically no people in the tube. Yesterdays event happened in rush hour. And on top of that this couple was not 20. They must have been at least 25.

The fact is that someone smoking next to me, once in a while, probably doesn't do Noam any harm. But it's a good excuse to use at the moment, as cigarette smoke makes ME feel sick. The fact is also that it didn't hurt me to get up and move. But the whole situations really annoyed me, which is why I had to write it down. To then be able to let it go.

Few smokers in Sweden

According to WHO Sweden is the country in the World with the fewest smokers (16 %).

Go Sweden!

A brilliant day

It's rare that everything goes your way the whole day. Today it has, for me though.

It did start like if it would be a bad day though. I turned on the news, while having porridge for breakfast. And I was met by a debate about whether or not the law on homosexual marriage should change.

That is a debate about if it should stay as it is now - a separate law for homosexuals, that is close to the heterosexual one, but still called somethings else and including some small differences. Or if there should be one law no matter who you chose to marry, one form of marriage and no separation that makes one category the norm and another category "the others".

I got annoyed, as the person arguing the stand point that I have, the later one, was pretty bad at arguing his point. And I got annoyed as the other person, arguing the separation, used things like "the child's best interest" in her arguments, like if it was clear that her stand point provided the best situation for children.

Anyway, I shook this annoyance off, and I went to see three of my former colleagues, and had a nice time.

After that I went to a Beauty salon and had a two hours facial, which was wonderful.

When I got home I had two letters waiting for me. One that told me that I got highest grade on the course that I just finished. And another one that told me that I've gotten a really big raise, bigger than I had dared to expect.

Can it get any better in one and the same day?
